We are currently looking for an Analyst for our Digital Entertainment Group. The successful candidate will collect, organize and maintain data on consumer electronics devices including Blu-ray players, Connected TVs, video game consoles and set top boxes. Position works closely with senior staff to coordinate information capture and retrieval across these various market segments. Position also collects data directly from manufacturers each quarter and publishes an Excel deliverable that includes a five-year shipment and installed base forecast worldwide and regionally.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quantitative research activities to support ongoing market research initiatives
- Conduct search activities on the Internet and third-party databases
- Contact manufacturers directly each quarter to collect their shipment information
- Represent all of In-Stat's Digital Entertainment research locally and support sales
- Work closely with team members in Asia and the US to ensure consistent data between DisplaySearch and In-Stat
- Write research reports on these topics in PowerPoint and Excel
Qualifications:
- A technical or business Bachelor's Degree required
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Direct market research experience in the consumer electronics, mobile, computing, communication, and/or semiconductor market space
- Experience with statistical forecasting tools and methods
- Basic understanding of financial statements and other financial tools for data collection
- Expertise with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Travel expected is <20%

Description:
The position carries responsibility for market and industry research into the current status and prospects for the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. PV is the fastest growing renewable energy source.
You will utilize your market and industry research skills to make a material contribution to Solarbuzz’s industry-leading reports. These reports are utilized by most of the major PV manufacturer multi-nationals, blue chip financial institutions, other solar companies through the business chain and new entrants to the industry.
You will be part of the professional, energetic team that is the leading research and consultancy company to the global PV industry. You will be expected to work proficiently with highly dynamic and rapidly growing PV companies and organizations worldwide.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To Research, analyze and report downstream market PV developments in Greater China region
- To monitor supply chain developments in China and Taiwan.
- To directly discuss with PV companies, mainly but not limited to Chinese and Taiwanese, and online research. The discussion is for information exchange and intelligence acquisition.
- Support the solar reports production, including raw data collection, data consolidation, analysis writing and graphing.
- To attend or present at key industry exhibitions and conferences will be expected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science or Engineering
- At least 1 year of business experience in the PV industry gained in substantial part in an Asian working environment
- Fluent Mandarin and English (both verbal and written) is essential
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Analytical - able to research the details, while being able to see and articulate the “bigger picture”
- Inquisitive with excellent research abilities
- Energetic, enthusiastic positive self-starter
- Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
- Able to meet clear deadlines
