| The FPD industry has enjoyed double-digit growth since 2002, and the total revenue reached US$100 billion in 2007! Even with new investment in Gen 8 and larger TFT LCD fabs, new industry alliances and new ways of doing business, the global economy is growing more slowly, and environmental issues are becoming more important. This means that players in FPD industry will face bigger challenges than before. |
| China continues to grow in importance in LCD manufacturing and investments will continue. SVA has a Gen 6 fab in the works, and there are rumors and plans of more to come. We know Chinese panel makers will continue to grow with support from government, ready sources for financing, and so many consumers for their displays. |
